Abstract

GARCIA, Andrés A; MORENO, Juan C; GARCIA, Jesús A  and  GIRALDO, Liliana. EVALUATION OF THE CALCULATION OF MICROPORES VOLUME IN THE STUDY OF METHANE ADSORPTION ON ACTIVATED CARBONS.. Rev.Colomb.Quim. [online]. 2007, vol.36, n.1, pp.109-120. ISSN 0120-2804.

Different methods for micropore volume calculation in carbonaceous materials were studied. It was investigated a method which approximates the micropore volume calculated from high pressure methane adsorption isotherms by means of low pressure adsorption isotherms (N2 and CO2 ). The best fit was achieved for the Dubinin-Astakhov equation for carbon dioxide isotherms, CO2, at 273 K.

Keywords : methane adsorption; adsorption parameters; comparison of isotherms.
