Abstract

VAZQUEZ, Mario V.; HERNANDEZ-LUIS, Felipe; RAMIREZ, Carolina  and  D. ARBELO, Carmen. ELECTROKINETIC STUDY OF A SOIL AFTER THERMAL IMPACT. Rev.Colomb.Quim. [online]. 2010, vol.39, n.2, pp. 211-219. ISSN 0120-2804.

This paper discusses some changes in the characteristics of a soil subjected to thermal shock. The properties are analyzed using a electrokinetics technique derived from the electrorremediacion. The analysis focuses on the variation of the electrolysis current, and the potential difference generated within a region near the electrodes chamber during the treatment. The results are explained in relation to the change of some properties of the soil samples subjected to thermal treatment before the electrokinetic process.

Keywords : electrokinetics; soil; fire; thermal treatment.
