REBOLLEDO R., Alexander; GARCIA-LUIS, Amparo  e  GUARDIOLA B., José L.. Effect of the indolacetic acid on the in vitro development of the fruit tissues of the sweet orange var. Salustiana. Acta Agron. [online]. 2007, vol.56, n.4, pp.177-185. ISSN 0120-2812.

The effect of 4 concentrations of the indolacetic acid as well as the explant type on the in vitro development of the sweet orange fruit tissue Citrus sinensis (L) Osbeck Salustiana variety was characterized. A maximum response in explants of 6-d-old fruitlets was obtained with the higher concentrations (10-5 and 10- 6 M). At this development stage, fruit tissue cells were dividing. A decrease in the fruit response capacity after day 31 was verified. At this moment, cellular differentiation in the internal mesocarp was starting. The increase in size of the vesicle explants of 6-d-old fruitlets suggests a response of the Salustiana cultivar to auxin applications during the early stage of fruit development. This hormone can operate directly on this tissue.

Palavras-chave : Citrus sinensis var. Salustiana; in vitro culture; indolacetic acid; fruit explants.
