Abstract

MADERO MORALES, Edgar Enrique; IPAZ CUASTUMAL, Claudia  and  BRAVO CLAVIJO, Andrés Mauricio. Ideal electrolite concentration in soil surface from Palmira, El Cerrito and Guacarí, Valle del Cauca, Colombia. Acta Agron. [online]. 2008, vol.57, n.3, pp.205-216. ISSN 0120-2812.

After addition of variable quantities of CaCl2 equivalent to critical coagulation concentration (CCC) (ideal soil electrolyte concentration) the water movement in surface soil samples was evaluated and was also related with organic carbon, clay content, and soil pH in 112 soil samples distributed in a logarithmic squeme over 84.000 ha. The Arc GIS 8.3 software to produce geoestadistical maps was used. The CCC improved significantly the saturated soil hydraulic conductivity in majority of soils, showed inverse correlation with clay content and pH and direct correlation with organic carbon percentage. Using the interpolation procedure the most susceptible areas to soil sealing were obtained.

Keywords : Ideal salinity; critical coagulation concentration.
