Abstract

VILLA-MARTINEZ, Alejandra et al. Current situation of Fusarium spp in the control and evaluation of the antifungal activity on vegetables extracts. Acta Agron. [online]. 2015, vol.64, n.2, pp.194-205. ISSN 0120-2812.  https://doi.org/10.15446/acag.v64n2.43358.

Due to the relentless search for more reliable and beneficial (sustainable?) alternatives for the control of pests and diseases in crops, it has been opened a broad overview of research on the use of plant extracts, essential oils and secondary metabolites from plants, which are today an alternative to decrease the negative effect of some pathogenic microorganisms, because they have low costs, are kind with the environment and animal health. This paper shows and discusses some of the many studies have done around the world with relevant evidence on the biological effectivity of some plant species used in control of Fusarium spp., as it is one of the fungi genres most devastating in crops, on the planet in last years.

Keywords : Essential oils; biological effectivity; pathogenic fungi; secondary metabolites.
