DIAZ- ABRIL, Diana Milena; VELEZ- SANCHEZ, Javier Enrique e RODRIGUEZ-HERNANDEZ, Pedro. Effect of the controlled irrigation in the yield and fruit quality of Pyrus communis L., cv. Triunfo de Viena. Acta Agron. [online]. 2016, vol.65, n.2, pp.156-163. ISSN 0120-2812. https://doi.org/10.15446/acag.v65n2.49650.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of controlled irrigation during the period of rapid growth of the fruit in yield and quality in Pyrus communis L, cv. Triunfo de Viena, to implement strategies that will achieve greater efficiency in the use of water during phenological periods of the crop. The pear planting areas have increased in recent years, due to the advantages of eating the fruit from the nutritional and medicinal point of view. The research was conducted in 16 year old pear trees grown in the municipality of Sesquilé, Cundinamarca, applying three irrigation treatments; one (T1) control group that was irrigated at 100% ETc during all the cycle, a (T2) irrigated to 73 % ETc during the period of rapid fruit growth and (T3) irrigated to 53% ETc during the same period of T2, from 2012 to 2013. The statistical design was of complete block randomization with four replicates per treatment, the results were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and mean comparison test of Duncan, with a significance level of 5%.The reducing irrigation of up to 53% ETc during droughts, does not affect the production and quality of the crop in the pear tree, allowing savings of 47% of water at this stage of fruit growth where irrigation is required
