This article studies the most relevant elements of the labor reform proposed and implemented by President Alfonso López Pumarejo during his second term of government. The reform was implemented fundamentally across the Law 6^th of 1945. The most relevant elements of this reform were the institutionalization and regulation of the labor movements that contribute in this way to the stability of the economic growth and the business development claimed in this moment for the Colombian State, as well as the recognition of a set of claims and rights to urban workers, that made of this reform the most advanced in Colombia in social terms during the 20^th century.
