Abstract

SUAREZ D, Oscar Hernando; VARGAS ACERO, Luis Rafael  and  VALDERRAMA HERNANDEZ, Jessica Astrid. Epidural Anesthesia for Cesarean Section in a Patient with Ebstein's Anomaly. Rev. colomb. anestesiol. [online]. 2011, vol.39, n.2, pp.240-249. ISSN 0120-3347.  https://doi.org/10.5554/rca.v39i2.101.

Ebstein’s anomaly is a rare congenital defect consisting of the adhesion of both the septal and posterior valves of the tricuspid valve to the myocardium which produces an apical displacement of the tricuspid annulus and an atrialization of the right ventricle There are few cases described in the literature of pregnancy and Ebstein’s anomaly. In this case report, the management of a pregnant patient with this cardiac disease with epidural anesthesia is described following the current basic principles of the anesthetic management of pregnant women with cardiac disease.

Keywords : Pregnancy; Ebstein anomaly; anesthesia; cesarean section.
