Abstract

The principal goal of this article is to determine how to get the best out of the new machines and place their technology at the service of children. With this in mind, we will give a definition for "Modern Anesthesia Machines", their main benefits, the basic concepts regarding mechanical ventilation of the anesthetized child using the major ventilation strategies, and lastly, how to make the best use of graphic monitoring offered by these machines.
