Currently, there is a fundamental reflection on the social responsibility of the media in order to understand their role in the process of reality construction, and as a consequence it is necessary to disentangle its significations. From this viewpoint, the author of the article presents the partial results of the investigations which have made it possible to venture a first reflection on the representation of the armed authors of the Colombian conflict in four newspapers. The results of the critical analysis of the discourse show that there are diverse forms of nominal references to the different social authors, regarding the construction of their collective identities.
