This article seeks to characterize the argumentative dimension of the discursivememory (Courtine, 1981, 1994), specifically in the case of the editorials and comments issued by the Argentinian written press in order to support the successive Coups d´Etat, during the period of 1930-1976. To analize this argumentative dimension, we called argumentative-rhetoric memory the return (the transformation or oblivion in the discursive series) of persuasive strategies which, in the case here analyzed, have the function of creating the political adhesion to such Coups d´Etat. Two ways were followed within the French tendency of discourse analysis (Charaudeau & Maingueneau, 2005; Maingueneau, 1996) and from the rhetoric perspective of study of argumentation (Perelman y Olbrechts-Tyteca, 1989; Amossy, 2000): the analysis of the topics and the argumentative techniques.
