Abstract

The article discusses some Hispanicisms of the Muisca language, found in the Bocabulario de la Lengua Chibcha o Mosca, manuscript II/2922 (3), preserved in the Royal Library of the Royal Palace of Madrid. The research work was carried out in the following stages: a) search for and selection of possible Hispanicisms in the manuscript o; b) etymological consultation in the Diccionario crítico etimológico castellano e hispánico, the Tesoro de la Lengua Castellana o Española, and, in some cases, in the Diccionario de la Lengua Española; c) transcription of the borrowing in context, and d) presentation of the fields in which the Hispanicisms appear, since they do not occur exclusively in the religious field. The paper also addresses the possible phonetic adaptations of these Hispanicisms in the Muisca language.
