Abstract

The article presents the results of a study carried out in Brazil in order to inquire into the benefits of pedagogical workshops using computer activities for the development of reading comprehension and the acquisition of linguistic knowledge related to textual awareness. The activities used fables as basic texts and were based on rules of textual coherence and cohesion. Participants were students from the last grades of elementary school. The results obtained showed the evolution of the students and proved that teaching networks, research, and the computer activities carried out were very productive.
