Abstract

BERMUDEZ, Nicolás. THE DISCURSIVE FORMULA IN POLITICS. AN OVERVIEW. Forma funcion, Santaf, de Bogot, D.C. [online]. 2015, vol.28, n.2, pp.215-234. ISSN 0120-338X.  https://doi.org/10.15446/fyf.v28n2.53550.

This paper deals with the notion of formula and its importance in the analysis of political discourse. The specific objective is to review critically the heuristic productivity of this notion to allow for a reflection on the current operating of political discourse, especially in its intertwining with the media functional economy. The framework for this reflection is provided by the crossing of two theoretical currents: socio-semiotics, from which the social performance of meaning and communication emerges, and discourse analysis, which provides accurate analytical tools for thinking about discursivity. The study of the notion of formula helps to understand the functioning of the political field and explains the importance of discursive reflection on political communication.

Keywords : Political discourse; political communication; media; formula; discourse analysis.
