Forma funcion, Santaf, de Bogot, D.C. [online]. 2016, vol.29, n.1, pp.103-131. ISSN 0120-338X. https://doi.org/10.15446/fyf.v29n1.58510.
This project studied whether or not stimulation of all types of creative thinking was produced in children from 8 to 11 years old by writing myths concerning the origin of the universe. To that end, a pretest, the Multifactorial Evaluation of Creativity (Sánchez, 2006) was applied to the participants. Afterwards, a myth-writing workshop took place in order to stimulate creative thinking and at the end a post-test was applied using the same instrument as in the pretest in order to quantify increase in creativity. Results showed an increase of 11.3% in individuals' performance on the post-test as compared to the pretest results. Boys, fifth grade and the 9-year-old participants were those who mainly increased their creativity. Future research is recommended concerning the use of literary tools for stimulating creative thinking, as alternative devices from those that are commonly used in the area of education.
