Abstract

GONZALEZ NINO, Liliana et al. Information literacy: the instrument design for its observation. Leng. [online]. 2013, vol.41, n.1, pp.105-131. ISSN 0120-3479.

This article presents the conceptual aspects which give support to the design of an observational test oriented to characterize the information literacy in university students. These aspects are based on the structural semiotics (Greimas, 1989, Alvarado, 2007) and on a situated comprehension of the information literacy with a historical and cultural perspective. The instrument is conceived as a higher order device inasmuch it leads the students to observe themselves (Navarro, 1995). Results highlights the situated character of the practices related with the access, assess and use of information sources whereas the test takes into account the contexts, the subjects and the languages

Keywords : information literacy; observational instrument; university students; structural semiotics.
