WEFFER, Elizabeth  e  SUAREZ, María Mercedes. Translation of Specialized Multi-word Noun Phrases (SMNPs) in a Climate Change Corpus. Leng. [online]. 2014, vol.42, n.1, pp.125-144. ISSN 0120-3479.

This study aims to describe the hypothetical reconstruction of the correspondence formulation process of specialized multi-word noun phrases (SMNPs) of up to six tokens. To conduct this study, a specialized text corpus of the Climate Change domain and Carbon Dioxide Sequestration subdomain was selected. Additionally, a group of empirical translators and trained translators was selected. Data were collected using Think Aloud Protocols (TAPs) and instruments such as an in-depth retrospective interview and a questionnaire. Results suggest that it is necessary to integrate linguistic and extralinguistic knowledge with the knowledge mediated by the terminology of the discipline

Palavras-chave : Specialized Multi-word Noun Phrases (SMNPs); Translation Strategies; Think Aloud Protocol (TAP).
