ARENAS HERNANDEZ, Karina Alejandra. Characteristics of socially shared regulation in collaborative writing: contributions from a research experience. Leng. [online]. 2017, vol.45, n.1, pp.35-60. ISSN 0120-3479.

This article derives from a research that aimed to characterize the socially shared regulation process in collaborative writing of an argumentative text among college students. Research findings indicate that this strategy fosters discussion and negotiation on the goals of the task and the procedures to accomplish them. Consequently, the students achieved shared construction of knowledge about language, the topic, the type of text, and the collective regulation process in collaborative writing. This provides evidence that the students were fully aware and engaged during their writing process.

Palavras-chave : collaborative writing; socially shared regulation; collaborative learning; metacognition.
