The purpose of this article is to illustrate academic writing supported by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) within the framework of an Online Writing Center (OWC), from the possibilities of development and application in secondary education. To this end, the relationship between academic and digital literacy is presented, then the social and educational possibilities of writing mediated by ICT are discussed along with the perspectives of addressing academic writing in the school. Finally, the paper outlines conclusions for the tutoring of the academic writing supported by a OWC in secondary education.
