Abstract

This paper study the differences regional of the informal labor in Colombia. The descriptive analysis shows local differences in the degree of informality that are product of characteristics economic and social own of every region, that are related with the structure productive and the nearness with other cities. I estimate Models of Panel Data, where the informality, the share percentage of the manufacturer sector in the department PIB (variable that measures of the structural approach) and the size of the expense in public wages per capita of every region (variable that measures the degree of efficiency of the state and characterizes the institutional approach), are related. The results shows that the informality has a negative correlation with the degree of industrially developed of the cities and has a positive correlation with the variable institutional, furthermore the existence of a local important factor.
