Abstract
GALINDO PARDO, Camila. Analysis of Teenage Pregnancy and Childbearing: Socioeconomic Differences. Desarro. soc. [online]. 2012, n.69, pp.133-185. ISSN 0120-3584.
Teenagers from the lowest socioeconomic level are particularly vulnerable and prone to sexual initiation and childbearing in adolescence given their individual characteristics, the context in which they live and the long term possibilities they perceive. Although the strategies and policies aimed at reducing the prevalence of pregnancy among young people under 19 should help to reduce the vulnerability of the poorest groups, they only had an effect on adolescents of higher socioeconomic level. Future interventions should not only differ by socioeconomic status, but also take into account at which point of sexual and reproductive life is the teenager.
