DETERMINANTS OF DEGREE OF OPENNESS OF AGRIBUSINESS SMES: AN APPLICATION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ATLÁNTICO. Desarro. soc. [online]. 2018, n.80, pp.189-228. This paper tries to establish the determinants of degree of openness of the agribusiness SMEs of the department of Atlántico. The purpose of this is to identify the key factors for the formulation of policies that strengthen the open innovation strategy in the sector. The application of two Tobit models shows that acquisition capacity, geographical proximity to customers and suppliers, the signing of contracts, the size and barriers to innovate are the significant variables to explain the breadth and depth in the use of external sources to innovate. The results suggest the need to create environments that promote the creation of inter-organizational networks of cooperation for innovation, with the objective of consolidating geographic spaces based on the knowledge economy, that allow to integrate different agents of the innovation system.
