SUAREZ MARTINEZ, Roberto Andrés  e  CASTELLANOS DOMINGUEZ, Óscar Fernando. Conceptual basis and impact of the implementation of employment skills in an individual-organization relationship: Model of application in the Colombian printing industry. Cuad. Adm. [online]. 2006, vol.19, n.31, pp.81-101. ISSN 0120-3592.

The phenomena of globalization and technological change have brought important challenges to Latin America in competitiveness and social development, particularly in the formation and management of human talent. This article describes the results obtained from the research designed to determine the relevance of employment skills as a strategy to bring together the education and productive sectors and centre them on the individual, in order to facilitate incorporation into the employment market and to reduce the gap between the skills the individual has and the skills which industry requires. Starting with the conceptual basis of employment skills, contributions to knowledge management and processes of innovation in organizations are proposed. Then, a method for implementation in the printing industry is proposed. Finally, and based on the experiences of the application, as an analysis of practical results of the discourse in skills, and a proposal is prepared to design a system of formation and evaluation in them. Today, this method is being used to develop a programme of formation by skills, in more than 20 printing companies.
