Abstract

PEREIRA LAVERDE, Fernando. The evolution of entrepreneurial spirit as a field of knowledge: Towards a systemic, humane vision. Cuad. Adm. [online]. 2007, vol.20, n.34, pp.11-37. ISSN 0120-3592.

For the purpose of better understanding the development potential that the field of  knowledge entrepreneurial spirit has, this article examines how it is structured and affirms that it is necessary to go beyond monodisciplinary approaches that do not consider context or temporal dimension to understand it. This general discussion is complemented by an examination of the limitations of the main theoretical schools of thought regarding this field, which invites us to assume a systemic perspective acknowledging that each school contributes to understanding the entrepreneur phenomenon. In that manner, the authors present the contributions and limitations of schools, such as the economic current, the character trait current, the strategic current, and the process or dialogic current. Furthermore, the key components of research opportunities aimed at systemic, humane concepts, which will mark the future development of this field of knowledge, are identified.

Keywords : Entrepreneurial spirit; systemic concept; development of the field of  knowledge entrepreneurial spirit.
