Abstract

BERUMEN, Sergio A  and  LLAMAZARES REDONDO, Francisco. Usefulness of multiple criteria decision methods (such as AHP) in an environment with growing competitiveness. Cuad. Adm. [online]. 2007, vol.20, n.34, pp.65-87. ISSN 0120-3592.

The search for efficiency and productivity contribute to exploring support methodologies for decision making in scenarios where multiple variables or selection criteria intervene. For the purpose of this article, the authors consider that among the diverse multiple criteria decision methods, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method shows great potential for identifying and prioritizing problems and subsequent actions whose results will be seen in the design, implementation, validation, control, and evaluation processes that companies, industrial sectors, and regions deal with every day in the current environment governed by economic globalization.

Keywords : Multiple criteria decision methods; AHP; competitiveness; companies; industrial sectors; regions.
