Abstract

CHARLO MOLINA, María José  and  NUNEZ TORRADO, Miriam. The efficiency of the financial sector in Spain: a gender focus. Cuad. Adm. [online]. 2011, vol.24, n.42, pp.125-145. ISSN 0120-3592.

The purpose of this work is to study the economic repercussions which may be experienced as a result of the participation of women in high-level decision making processes of financial sector businesses listed in the Spanish capital markets. An analysis is made of the relationship between the presence of women in posts of entrepreneurial responsibility and the success of the organization, using the theoretical framework provided by the management of diversity. The methodology used is analysis of linear regression, and analysis of variances (Anova). The statistical analysis offers the conclusion that the presence of women the Boards of the companies studied does not entail any impairment of the results of the business, and therefore, it is not understood that they do not have access to such posts on the same conditions as their male colleagues.

Keywords : Management of diversity; gender; entrepreneurial success; profitability.
