Abstract
LONDONO LINARES, JUAN PABLO. HOLISTIC RISK EVALUATION FOR LANDSLIDES IN ANDEAN URBAN AREAS. A METHODOLOGIC PROPOSAL. Bol. cienc. tierra [online]. 2007, n.20, pp.55-72. ISSN 0120-3630.
This article proposes a preliminary methodology that tries to assimilate the concept of risk from a integral point of view, from the environmental paradigm, considering the vulnerability of the communities like a process derived from multiple causes, from those physical of location in exposed zones, to social determinants of spatial segregation, this involve social, economic and political processes. With the previous argument, and the use of GIS, maps associated to 27 Factors of Hazard and Vulnerability for the Andean city of Manizales Colombia , have been generated. An explanatory model from the Discriminant Analysis and an Artificial Neuronal Network was used to generate maps of associated risk to landslides. With a model of this type and the correct information, would have a true System of Prevention and Early Alert for landslides in urban areas, thus contributing to the sustainability of the Andean Cities.
