Abstract

MESA YEPES, HUGO; BRANCH BEDOYA, JOHN WILLIAN  and  PEREZ ORTEGA, GIOVANNI. CLASSIFICATION OF THE POROSITY IN THERMALLY TREATED COALS USING A SYSTEM OF COMPUTER AIDED MICROSCOPY. Bol. cienc. tierra [online]. 2009, n.25, pp.81-92. ISSN 0120-3630.

The techniques of digital image analysis has shown to be a promising application in the interpretation of model results and provides quantitative information on the characteristics that are studied. In particular, it allows a quantitative comparison between different models. This paper proposes an alternative methodology to the traditional methods for the classification of the porosity in thermally treated coals from images of polished sections using a system of Computer Aided Microscopy.

Keywords : Automatic Visual Inspection; Digital Image Processing; Computer Aided Microscopy; Materials Characterization.
