Abstract

RODRIGUEZ SEPULVEDA, ANDRÉS FELIPE  and  MOLINA, JORGE MARTÍN. SELECTIVE EXTRACTION IN GOLD MINING. Bol. cienc. tierra [online]. 2009, n.26, pp.07-18. ISSN 0120-3630.

In the mine «La Independencia», located in Titiribí Antioquia. a project on vein galleries developing with selective mining for gold recuperation was carried out. The objective of these galleries was the reserve block definition with exploitation purposes. It is the goal of this paper to show the costs, productivity. advantage and disadvantage using selective mining technique compared to total front advance technique. Essays were made in the drilling net, where sorne valúes for specifíc 2.92kg/m³ explosíve comsumption were found. No differences were found between those two variable cost for each procedure; these are between C$51000 and C$56000. but a difference was found between the fíxed cost which ranges between C$15000 in total front explosion and C$30000 in selective explosion. The total front technique was found more effective for more material can be obtained and also a faster. 2.3 times, advance than in selective technique. A model for the digging net vein mining elaboration was designed: this will be a guide to the development of the selective explosion, as ít describes the right procedure m each case. Thus is broken de paradigm that selective extraction in lower cost than total front. (C$2000 are equivalent to US$1)
