Abstract

GOMEZ M, RODRIGO A.  and  CORREA E., ALEXANDER A.. CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TRANSPORT AND DISTRIBUTION ANALYSIS USING DISCRETE SIMULATION IN 3D. Bol. cienc. tierra [online]. 2011, n.30, pp.39-52. ISSN 0120-3630.

The paper aims to use discrete simulation represent and analyze the performance of transport and distribution processes of Construction Materials. To achieve this purpose, it covers topics such as materials construction, discrete simulation, transportation and distribution. As result of the paper, you get that allows discrete simulation performance analysis of transport and distribution of a quantitative allowing to measure amounts mobilized, processes efficiency, resource utilization. This is evident in the case of application of reference to a company operating in Ataco Tolima Arena where obtained a quantitative measure of the average times of routes (route 1 and 2 have an average running time of 163 and 347 minutes about number of customer orders delivered on time (60% efficiency) and quantitative measurement of capacity utilization logistical resources (30%). Furthermore, it should highlight the benefits discrete simulation using GOOGLE EARTH ® and the analysis of transmission and distribution systems for measuring distances routes and location.

Keywords : Construction materials; Discrete simulation; Transport; Distribution; Use of resource; Ataco; Tolima; Colombia.
