This article analyzes the process of teaching and production of geological knowledge, as contents of Mining and Civil Engineering, in the program of the National School of Mines in Medellin, between 1911 and 1937. It was articulated in two main areas: the teachers who were in charge of this subject and methodology of study taught following the policy of the institution, regarding the apprehension of the concepts seen in the classroom, to be applied in field work, and of course in professional life would face as engineers. Likewise, the relationship had teaching geology at the School with some business sectors and the national and regional government.
