In the era of the big data, the art of creating an applied computational program to develop a calculation procedure in Earth Sciences has become one skill more among the abilities of the scientist. This short technical note comments on the minimum rules the author must be present to divulge computational codes applied to the Earth Sciences. Finally, the author encourages every geoscientist to become a code developer.
