Abstract

NUNEZ-CARACHURE, Elizabeth; FRAUSTO-MARTINEZ, Oscar  and  VILLASENOR-FRANCO, Alma. Application of complex geomorphological profiles in the sub basins of the Huacapa and Huajapa rivers, Guerrero, México. Bol. cienc. tierra [online]. 2023, n.53, pp.49-56.  Epub Mar 12, 2024. In this article, there are complex geomorfic profiles which include different geomorphological indices that are located in the zone north of Chilpancingo City, Guerrero-Mexico, in the limits of the Huacapa and Huajapa Rivers sub basins. The creation of the indices, a morphologic study was done. (The hypsometric, slopes, order of drainage, dissection density, and dissection depth, tuned to geological characterization), which werecontracted into two types of profiles: longitudinal and transverse within order to recognize spatial relationships and differentiations at the basin level. Results indicated that the dissection density ranges from medium to low the longitudinal profile and in the transverse one, it presents a value from low to very low; in the density of depth of dissection, mean values are presented in both profiles. The geological formation that corresponds to the neogene tertiary. According to the interpretation of the geomorphological profiles, it is concluded that the area shows a zone of lowering or leveling of the relief due to the action of exogenous agents. In addition, at the point of interception of both profiles, there is a positive regional tectonic movement, concluding that the area is in a transition phase between the young relief and an already modeled older one.

Keywords : relief; morphometry; geomorphological cartography; danger; endogenous factors; exogenous factors.
