Abstract

MENENDEZ ANTUNA, LUIS. Re-readings from the 'next-beyond'. Introducing the post-colonial perspective in the spanish-speaking biblical outlook. Theol. Xave. [online]. 2011, vol.61, n.171, pp.169-202. ISSN 0120-3649.

The biblical hermeneutical in the Spanish-speaking world has been dominated by an objectivist knowledge paradigm, which supposes its reader as uninterested and universal. Post-colonial criticism, when incorporating the contributions from the post-structuralist philosophy, proposes a new perspective which questions some methodologicalideological assumptions belonging to traditional models. It allows the formulation of insight born in liberation hermeneutics, also establishing a new space for interdisciplinary dialogue in the academic context (minorities, ethnic-racial, queer, or gender studies) and culturally diverse in the geopolitical one.

Keywords : Biblical hermeneutical methodology; postcolonial criticism; ideological criticism.
