Abstract

SIERRA GONZALEZ, Ángela María  and  VELEZ CARO, Olga Consuelo. HEAL AND RAISE FEMININE BODIES: AN INTERPRETATION FROM CRITICAL FEMINIST HERMENEUTICS. Theol. Xave. [online]. 2012, vol.62, n.173, pp.199-229. ISSN 0120-3649.

Feminist hermeneutics offers a new understanding of women, their role as mediators for healing, and their key role in the overcoming of obstacles. The community's interpretation of the relation illness-body-healing, from the believing experience, and a more integral vision of corporeality play a decisive role in such interpretation and in its meaning for Christian life. With these assumptions, the stories of the woman with the hemorrhage and the crippled woman are presented as the central strand of this inquiry.

Keywords : Feminist hermeneutics; body; healing; experience of God; community.
