Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To determine the results of educational intervention aimed at teachers to strengthen healthy habits and psychosocial life skills in children of primary age in public institutions in the city of Bogotá. METHODOLOGY: a qualitative study with descriptive approach which was used as data collection technique the focus group, seeking to deepen with the participants their experience, methodology, implementation and results of the training process with a focus on health promotion with emphasis on psychosocial Skills for Life and Healthy Habits with school groups. For data analysis took into account proposed by Taylor and Bogdan approach and to support analysis ATLAS ti (v. 6.2) software was used. RESULTS: Participation of teachers in training processes had an impact on different scenarios of their lives, is how experiences are identified in their personal, family and work life. Which is explained in three areas: the novelty of the training process, creativity generated in their teaching and solidarity at the time of implementation in educational institutions. CONCLUSIONS: Individuals research participants identified the participatory methodology used in the training process as innovative and important for their adherence to the program element, surpassing its initial predispositions to participate. Likewise, strengthening the creativity of teachers is a factor contributing to teaching
