The present article constitutes a jurisprudential study of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights from the theoretical approach of the juridical realism and with the jurisprudential line construction method of Colombian jurist Diego Lopez Medina. The objective of the study is motivated from a judgment on sexual violence in a case against the United States of Mexico. The main target is to identify the international standards fixed by this Court to consider the sexual violence as a torture.
