This article presents the description of the teaching style of the teachers of the Education Degree with Special Education Emphasis from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional from the Abello, Hernandez and Hederich (2011) theoretical and instrumental teaching style model. The results are a product from a descriptive and qualitative tranverse study. For its execution, the Teaching Style Inventory v.3.4 was applied to 19 teachers being characterized by 622 students in 39 courses. This characterization was made from the dimensions of the structure of the model: 1) social, 2) classroom management and 3) classroom strategies and the differences between teachers and students. In addition, they identify the static and variable aspects in the teaching style of the same teacher in different subjects and explore the relationships between the type, education level and experience time of the teachers and their teaching style.
