The Affection Scales and Revised Life Orientation Test Brasil (LOT-R) were applied. The results of the study showed higher levels of positive affections. They also showed group differences. Optimism and hope levels were higher for freshmen and graduate students. Older students are more realistic and less hopeful than those in middle-range age categories.
