Abstract
PINILLA-LOPEZ, Fernando. The Moral Foundation of Responsible Urban Behavior. Rev. colomb. educ. [online]. 2019, n.76, pp.243-264. ISSN 0120-3916. https://doi.org/10.17227/rce.num76-7956.
Based on the contribution of different academic disciplines that have addressed the subject of morality as part of the result of the process of human evolution, this article exposes the arguments by which responsible urban behaviors (CUR) constitute moral acts. Considering the moral fact as behavior in the pursuit of common welfare instead of only individual welfare is the starting point to analyze the origin and development of human morality. The conceptual elements addressed in this paper explore the different ideas that have sought to clarify the human development of morality, going through the theory of evolution by natural selection, the outstanding but questioned positions of sociobiology, revisiting aspects of modern philosophy and contemporary criticism, even psychological studies on rational human choice, language and norm as key components of the analysis on morality. Based on the above, the CUR are analyzed as moral behaviors at the service of the common interests of different human groups, highlighting their contribution to sustainability and the coexistence of cities.
