In this article an essential challenge of today's education is presented, questioning if students can creatively solve the situations they face throughout their lives. This study aims to describe creativity and academic performance in students from Spain and Colombia, assess the relationship between both abilities, and analyze the differences in students from both countries, as well as the importance of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) as tools for optimizing creativity and academic performance. In addition, the study seeks to compare both populations in creativity and academic performance in order to adapt the teaching technology intervention to the context and specific students. A quasi-experimental and descriptive-correlationalcomparative design was used. The sample consisted of 343 students with an average age of 13.63 years (45.5% men and 54.5% women). The CREA test was used to evaluate creativity and the average obtained fromall participants were taken for performance. The results show, at a descriptive level, that students obtain medium and medium-low results in both variables and, at a correlational level, that there is a relationship between both variables in the Colombian sample but not in the Spanish one. No differences were found between both countries in variable performance and creativity. These results point to the importance of stimulating creativity in the classroom, incorporating it to a greater extent in the educational curriculum, giving it greater weight in the evaluation of students. Some proposals are suggested based on ICT, the relevance and relevance of the inclusion of ICT in classrooms to improve the level of students' creativity.
