GONZALEZ, Fabián Enrique  and  AREVALO-WIERNA, Carla. Digital and Inequality Gap in Argentine Education. Rev. colomb. educ. [online]. 2023, n.88, pp.9-34.  Epub Jan 22, 2024. ISSN 0120-3916.  https://doi.org/10.17227/rce.num88-13289.

The access and use of information and communication technologies (ICTS) have a certain relationship with academic performance. covid-19 has highlighted unequal access to ICTS. ICTS access brings tools and educational resources to carry out school tasks and to learn out school content. The ICTS use improves the development of cognitive and noncognitive skills. This paper studies unequal ICT access and use in high schools in Argentina, and its impact on academic performance. Evidence obtained with data from the Aprender 2016 evaluation shows the existence of unequal access and use of ICTS and a negative effect on school performance.

Keywords : digital gap; academic performance; educational inequality; covid-19.
