Abstract

SCHARAGRODSKY, Pablo Ariel  and  HERRERA-BELTRAN, Claudia Ximena. Mapping knowledge, Experts and Spaces in the Movement Education. The Case of the iv Pan American Congress of Physical Education, Bogotá, 1965. Rev. colomb. educ. [online]. 2023, n.88, pp.96-120.  Epub Jan 22, 2024. ISSN 0120-3916.  https://doi.org/10.17227/rce.num88-13467.

Based on a social, political and cultural history of education, the following work analyzes the Fourth Pan American Congress of Physical Education held in Colombia in 1965. The investigation focuses on the transmitted knowledge, the pedagogical proposals selected, and the criticisms made to certain disciplinary traditions in that academic space. Likewise, the work explores who the participants were, their institutional trajectories and the ways in which the physical spaces were used and inhabited in the congress. Our hypothesis suggests that the academic event -the first oT its kind in Colombia- not only became a place of exchange and circulation of knowledge, pedagogical proposals and experts, but fundamentally it was a field of legitimation of the specialty and also of validation of its interventions and actions inside and outside the State.

Keywords : congress; physical education; knowledge; experts.
