The study offers the results of a phenomenological type of research whose purpose was to investigate the experiences and perceptions of 70 teachers in front of a group in the city of Chihuahua, about the inclusion and school results of indigenous students, as well as the relevance that they have, based on their experiences, in order to adress them through the New Educational Model in Mexico. A questionnaire, interview and focus group were used, in which the data was triangulated, having the results that the main difficulties faced by indigenous students are communication, non-significant content, emotional problems, and difficulty in terms of socializing; likewise, teachers show pedagogical, organizational and institutional difficulties, training and updating needs and feel alienated from educational reforms; it is observed low expectations towards this student population. Lastly, it is concluded that the current educational policies based on social inclusion and multiculturalism are insufficient, the school results continue to be the lowest, keeping negative stereotypes and prejudices towards indigenous students.
