Abstract

ARIAS ARANA, Itxaso. Shaped to contingency, appointed to comprehension. Prax. filos. [online]. 2008, n.26, pp. 203-226. ISSN 0120-4688.

Social research based upon philosophical explanations becomes the fundamental task of the construction of sense, and a constant challenge when trying to carry the practice from reflection to useful and coherent action. In this way we arrive at the hermeneutical proposal from pragmatist expositions that they are the bridge to a new context for Social Sciences. This context implies that we consider ourselves from and within contingency, towards and for comprehension. From an anti-dualist and constituently cooperative view of the human being we understand ourselves as possessors of the tools required to address the infinite possibilities that contingency offers to us. We will consider a cooperative framework within which we are coherent beings, empowered with a predisposition for comprehension.

Keywords : Social Investigation; hermeneutic; pragmatism; Contingency; Understanding.
