This article introduces the concept of imagination in Kant according to their function in the system of cognitive faculties and mind. Imagination acts schematization a priori categories of understanding. In its connection with sensible intuition produces the forms of representation: the scheme and the image as units of subjective formal expression. Imagination, in its spontaneity, is the foundation of a triple synthesis. Spontaneity is the basis of the link as synthetic unity of perception, and allows the synthesis of apprehension sensitivity is, necessarily, according to the synthesis of apperception is intellectual. Thus the imagination acts as the common root between sensitivity and understanding
