Abstract

BENENTE, Mauro. Ideology and critique in Michel Foucault. The issue of the subject. Prax. filos. [online]. 2015, n.40, pp.183-206. ISSN 0120-4688.

Michel Foucault's references to the notion of ideology are not so numerous. After just a few lines dedicated in the first conference of Truth and Juridical Forms, in an interview published in 1997, he expressed his discomfort with the concept of ideology, between two others reasons, by their implications with a classical notion of subject. On the other hand, surprisingly, in works as What is Critique?, he analyzed the notion of critique. I'm interested to examine if at the time of conceptualize the critique, Foucault maintains the same conceptualization of subjectivity when he reproached the concept of ideology

Keywords : True; Subjectivity; Ideology; Practice of the Self; Critique.
