In this paper, I offer a reconstruction of the argument of Aristotle in chapter 5 of Metaphysics Z and put forward a new interpretation of how his objections at 1030b14-36 against the possibility of defining non-substantial predicates are related to each other

Keywords : Extensional logic; definition; non-substantial predicates; essential predicates; Sophistici Elenchi.
