Abstract

DALMAU, Dr. Iván Gabriel. Reflections About Foucault’s Criticism of Neoliberalism. Prax. filos. [online]. 2023, n.56, pp.31-58.  Epub Apr 20, 2023. ISSN 0120-4688.  https://doi.org/10.25100/pfilosofica.v0i56.12858.

The purpose of this article is to investigate Foucault's criticism of neoliberalism displayed in his conferences given at the Collège de France in 1979. In these lectures, the French philosopher proposed a critical approach to political economy which he called a political criticism of knowledge (savoir). Therefore, the focus of this paper is the political critique of economic knowledge (savoir) that Foucault deployed in the above-mentioned lectures. Archeo-genealogical inquiry in which neoliberalism is studied neither as an ideology, nor as an economic theory, but as a governmental rationality.

Keywords : Foucault; Critique; Neoliberalism; Governmentality; Political Economy.
