In this essay we are going to first analyze the beginning of Rio de la Plata’s importing and exporting process, contrary to the law. We will also consider the ideology of those people who established themselves in Rio de la Plata in the 17th century, in order to analyze and explain the rise of the smuggling process. We are approaching the issue from new perspectives to bring a novel and original view to this topic.
